Nordic Leisure Travel Group NLTG makes major commitment in Kos – opens new Sunwing hotel and doubles capacity.
Ahead of summer 2027, Nordic Leisure Travel Group (NLTG) is making its biggest commitment in Kos to date with the launch of the family hotel Sunwing Marmari Beach – the first new Sunwing hotel since 2012. When the hotel opens in May, right by one of Kos’ most beautiful beaches, it will become one of NLTG’s largest family resorts – and at the same time the first major hotel project developed from the ground up together with real estate partner Premia Properties. The commitment also means that capacity to Kos will double next summer, with direct flights operated by NLTG’s own airline, Sunclass Airlines.
Sunwing Family Resorts, NLTG’s most popular family concept, was launched more than 60 years ago. Since then, the concept has continuously been improved and refined based on the wishes of Nordic families with children. With Sunwing Marmari Beach, NLTG is taking the next step in this development while also strengthening its hotel offering with an important new addition.

- An important part of our strategy is to grow with more of our own concept hotels. That makes this launch an important milestone for us and a much-anticipated addition. Together with our partners, we are creating a Sunwing 2.0 – a modern, attractive and carefully designed holiday resort in a fantastic location. Here, we also have a unique opportunity to offer a wide range of accommodation options, from apartments for smaller families to accommodation for larger groups, which we are very pleased about, says Magnus Wikner, CEO of NLTG/Nordic Leisure Travel Group.
Sunwing Marmari Beach is located in peaceful, rural surroundings directly on one of Kos’ most beautiful beaches, between the villages of Mastichari and Marmari and approximately 16 kilometres from Kos Town. The resort will be one of the largest in the Sunwing portfolio and spans a large area designed like a village. A unique feature of the hotel is its wide range of room types, from one-room apartments for three people to private villas with their own pool and space for up to eight guests.
Capacity to Kos doubled for summer 2027
The establishment on Kos enables the tour operator to increase volumes, and next summer capacity to the Greek island will double compared with this year.
- The combination of Kos, a new Sunwing hotel and our own airline, Sunclass Airlines, makes this investment strategically important. We are strengthening our family offering in an established and well-liked Greek destination, broadening our hotel portfolio and at the same time offering our guests flights with our own airline – something we know is especially appreciated. With this new investment, where all parts of the customer journey are closely connected, we can create strong business opportunities for the entire group and a smooth travel experience, continues Magnus Wikner.
Happy Baby Splash Pools and a wide range of pool access rooms
The hotel area offers endless opportunities for swimming, with eight different pool areas ranging from adapted children’s pools to adult pools – as well as 66 pool access rooms with a shared pool. In addition, there are five villas where guests have their own private pool. The beachfront location also offers wonderful sea swimming along the kilometre-long sandy beach.
A new feature at Sunwing Marmari Beach is that it will be the second family hotel in Ving’s programme (the first was Sunwing Kallithea in Rhodes) to offer so-called Happy Baby Splash Pools – apartments adapted for the youngest guests, where small children can splash in a shallow pool directly from their own terrace.
The hotel will also offer two large buffet restaurants with seating for 400–500 diners, the à la carte restaurant Ella, bars, Lollo & Bernie Club, Teen Lounge, gym, spa and activity areas. The popular mascots Lollo & Bernie will also be on site. As at all NLTG concept hotels, the unique Easy Travel service will also be offered, with check-in and baggage handling carried out directly at the hotel so guests can go straight to security at the airport on their return journey.

First hotel project developed from the ground up with real estate partner Premia Properties
Two years ago, NLTG/Nordic Leisure Travel Group entered into a strategic partnership with real estate partner Premia Properties, which subsequently acquired several of NLTG’s Sunwing Family Resorts. With Sunwing Marmari Beach, the collaboration is now being taken further – from the management and development of existing hotels to an entirely new hotel project developed from the ground up.
- We are very pleased to take the next step in our collaboration with NLTG/Nordic Leisure Travel Group. Following the acquisitions of the existing flagship hotels in Greece and Gran Canaria, this will be our first joint hotel project developed from the ground up. Together, we are combining Premia’s long-term real estate perspective with NLTG’s many years of experience in hotel development – and on Kos we have found exactly the right location to create a modern family resort with a strong concept and long-term potential, says Elias Georgiadis, founder and main shareholder of Premia Properties.
